moratti mourinho
When he was interviewed by Tele Lombardia, Massimo Moratti spoke of topics that will certainly interest the Inter fans. From Jose Mourinho: “I often think that we could bring back José rather than buy so many players, but you have to have common sense. It shouldn’t be forgotten that he came only for the Mancini’s outburst after Liverpool. It was hard to tell him that we would get another coach while celebrating the Scudetto. Mourinho then confirmed his great professionalism: I warned him that it was necessary to wait for Mancini and he told me that he would stay availible and that he wouldn’t have any other contacts. He kept his word.”

On the farewell when Mou went to Real Moratti said: “I think it was the right thing. Mou was like a gust of wind, a great storm: I still think I did the right thing to not have dragged him along after the treble. Then, the next year, we won the Super Cup, World Championship and the Italian Cup. And if Leonardo had come earlier, maybe we would have won another championship. José didn’t find satisfaction at Real, but is now at Chelsea which is the other club to which he is linked. I know that he would come back here: now he can’t, maybe he will return further ahead after Mazzarri, who is a great coach, has won three championships.”

Another issue that he is certainly passionate about is Alvaro Recoba: “He was a bit like Inter: always surprising. Lazy at times, but also decisive and he knew how to do things you might never have ever seen. Class and talent that made him a gem. According to me, Recoba is a champion. The night before the matches i used to imagine that he got by everyone and scored.”
