Inter manager Luciano Spalletti spoke to Rai after picking up his first league win as manager of Inter at his first attempt: “The first signal was given by our fans waiting for us at the stadium, when we got there it was all full. We have affection for these colours and we had to return their commitment with a performance, something we done tonight.”
Spalletti then spoke on the mercato: “You have to realise the situation and go ahead, I have a great team. Something is missing in defence but the directors know it and are working on it. Ranocchia will go elsewhere.”
Spalletti also spoke on Marcelo Brozovic, who surprisingly started tonight: “Brozovic? He is a footballer who knows how to find space on the pitch. Brozovic can play as the trequartista. Joao Mario played well also.”
The manager concluded discussing his decision to start with the midfield two of Borja Valero and Matias Vecino: “I started Borja and Vecino in front of the defence because Fiorentina would attack us. We are the Inter and we must have the courage to build, start the action and dominate in the midfield in the first half hour. We lost too many balls and Fiorentina made it difficult for us.”
