Premium Sport reports that Ivan Perisic is set to sign a contract extension with Inter after a summer fuled with speculation that the Croatian winger was on his way to Manchester United.

Instead Perisic will put pen to paper on a deal that will see him almost double his €3million net per season earnings to €5,5 million net and which will expire on June 30th 2021. The new deal will see him earn significantly less than he would have at Manchester United where he was reportedly offered a €7 million per season deal, but seeing as the Red Devils are yet to meat Inter’s asking price of €55 million, the move has fallen apart.

This news will certainly come as a relief to Luciano Spalletti who has been very vocal in his opposition to part ways with Perisic as the Nerazzurri prepare to kick-off their season this Sunday at 20.30 CET at home at the San Siro against Fiorentina.
