Trent Sainsbury stopped by San Siro’s mized zone to speak with the gathering journalists after his debut at the San Siro.

“Finally I got to play. I was a bit incredulous when the coach told me that I would be brought on as the last sub of the evening. It meant a lot. What I will remember from my time at Inter and Italy? The fact that I have made friends here. I have made many friends and they’re all great people. It has been a wonderful experience, to see a league of such a high quality such as the Serie A up close as well as doing so in one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

Sainsbury was then asked about his future stating that “for now I don’t know anything yet more than that I will join my national team to play in the Confederations Cup, then we’ll see what happens. If I think I can start next season here? If you know what the future holds then you have to tell me [laughs]. Suning’s ambition? Their objective is to win, to return to playing in the Champions League year after year and to become a great team again, something which Inter were used to being” Sainsbury concluded.
