Interviewed by Sporteconomy, Michele Uva, chief executive of the Football Federation, spoke about his candidacy for the Executive Committee of UEFA and reveals that Italy is considering to host a major football event:

“There is still some time, an idea is Euro 2028.”

The stadiums? We still have 11 years left, this is a victory for Italy. They will have to present to us in the best way possible. It is clear that there must be further acceleration of stadium modernization. But look at the current state: we have three modernized stadiums, which are the Juventus Stadium, Mapei Stadium and Friuli-Dacia Arena. Then there is the Marassi Stadium renovation, which will be ready in two years. Bologna will begin work after 2021 and we are also confident about the project of the new stadium of Roma so that of Fiorentina and Napoli – There is a strong expectation for these renovations. Not to mention the Olympic Stadium in Rome, which was already used for a Champions League final.”
