One of the names that seems to be attracting Inter is Napoli star, Dries Mertens – the 30 year old has proved to be the true secret weapon of Maurizio Sarri‘s side. Dries, in 32 appearances in all competitions, has managed to score 24 goals and 11 assists. Over the course of this season, he has been a hot topic, to the point that he has attracted the attention of top European clubs.
The Belgian outlet NLH.be, has covered the situation of the Belgian in their latest posts. According to the newspaper, Mertens intends to depart Napoli at the end of season. This will cause a tussle between Inter and Manchester United, with Inter revealing the Napoli player to be the number one goal for the June market. The Red Devils, although, are ahead in the negotiations: Mertens would most likely decline Inter’s offers in order to to have the opportunity to play in the Premier League – the forward has never hidden his desire to play in the English league, and for him, wearing the Manchester United jersey would be a dream come true.
