Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Marco Verratti has decided to take legal action against noted French media outlet L’Equipe who reported on March 10th that the Italian midfielder had frequented a discoteque with team mate Blaise Matuidi ahead of the return leg in the Champions League against FC Barcelona which PSG famously lost 6-1.
According to Verratti’s lawyer, Carlo Alberto Brusa, the published story is completely false and has severely damaged the PSG midfielder’s reputation by calling his professionalism into doubt. “On the night in question, March 6th, Mr. Verratti was at home with his wife and son and so this article is a complete and utter fabrication” Brusa stated.
