Marco Matterazzi spoke on the recent refereeing controversy, specifically the Juventus’ penalty awarded against Milan on Rai Radio 1: “The referee situation? It sickening. It always goes in one direction and one gets tired to even talk about it. When you are nervous it can happen, losing in the 95th minute is not pleasant and conceding a penalty is hard to stomach. Massa was far from the action, but there was the fifth man only a few centimetres away, who could have helped him more. But Juventus is a club which has been planning for many years and deserves to be there. If you win five Scudetti and buy Higuain it means you can always improve. Polemics between Inter and Juve? It’s normal, two of the most strong clubs in Europe, if these remain on pitch we can accept it.”

He also spoke on Stefano Pioli: “Yesterday I was at the San Siro and I had fun. A match surprisingly easy against another club fighting for Europe. What Inter misses to fight for Scudetto? You should ask Pioli, surely something about personality, maybe a full back. There is a good base, also Kondogbia is showing his value. Pioli is doing a good job, it’s right to give him another chance next year. Unfortunately, Inter didn’t have this continuity from the beginning. I think next year Inter can battle for Scudetto. Mourinho one day again at Inter? I hope.”
