Don Ausilio

Piero Ausilio gave his weekly pre-match press conference moments before kick-off at the San Siro when Inter host Atalanta.

“We need to improve our results in the direct encounters with our rivals for European football. Atalanta are no longer a surprise, it’s only 3 points which allows us to get closer to our objective. We’re very happy with Gagliardini. We followed him throughout the season and we understood that he could be the right man for us. He has great sporting values.”

“Muriel and Schick close to Inter? Anyone who plays well is apparently signing for Inter, weäve signed 10 players this past week alone. They are two great players, two of the best players in the Serie A. At a certain level the minimum release fee clauses don’t matter. Spinazzola is controlled by Juventus through options and counter options, he’s a great player but his future lays in the hands of Atalanta and Juventus.”

Ausilio was then asked to comment on Sarri’s comments after Juventus vs Milan to which he replied: “I only want to talk about Inter vs Atalanta. I’m sure that no-one at Inter spoke about the referee’s after Juventus vs Inter, we preferred to concentrate on our work. We have respect for Sarri.”

In conclusion Ausilio replied to the exclusion of Icardi from the national team: “He’s resting. we were hospitable to Bauza, he watched a few training sessions and he spoke to Pioli, Icardi and Banega. If Icardi plays for Argentina we’re happy, if not we look at it as a opportunity for him to rest.”
