Inter bounced back from their defeat against Roma with an emphatic win away against Cagliari. Stefano Pioli spoke to Sky after the match:

“For us it was imperative to bounce back immediately. It is true that we have high expectations. This is because we have the quality to do so and we are Inter. We are aware that it will be difficult, but we are gaining momentum. We have a lot of direct encounters remaining this season and we need to make the most out of them. For us one loss could vanquish our hopes.”

“We have now won four of our last five away matches. We also played well in Turin. Today we scored a lot of goals, but we still have to improve when we are not in possession. Our reaction was excellent and it sets us up well for next week, when we hope to overtake Atalanta in the table.”

Pioli then spoke about the transition between the 3 and 4 man back lines:

“I believe that building an understanding and having the desire can make the difference in matches. Sometimes we did lack the cutting edge. I am aware that Candreva and D’Ambrosio give us a lot going forward. We also did very well on the left. Banega drifted to the left of the pitch to give us an advantage. Today the attack did very well, but we can still do more off the day.”

The coach then finished his interview but speaking about his future at Inter:

“I hope that you all believe me. Stop listening to these rumors. I am the one that trains the team. It is important for a coach to think about his future as results are an indicator. We will do what we can until May 28th, then we will see what happens.”
