According to reports in today’s L’Unione Sarda, Giampiero Ventura would seriously consider calling Marco Borriello to the national team who has played a great part in Cagliari’s season.

The Italian striker, though, has only seen 40 minutes of playing time in the last 2 matches.

On Sunday, Borriello is in dangr of not being in the starting XI as well as the Sardinians will look to play a cautious 4-4-1-1, relying only on Marco Sau to pierce the Inter defense.

Borriello has had some muscle pain recently, which could answer why he hasn’t seen much playing time but could slowly make his way back into the picture.
