Stefano Pioli spoke in length with Radio Uno Rai today after guiding Inter to their sixth straight win: “It’s clear that we are in a positive moment, but Champions League is still far. We must give the max in every match and think only about doing that. I have players with quality and talent, everyone understood they have to sacrifice for the team, we can play good football but we can improve in moving the ball and the presence in the box. We are behind and we know the strenghts of the teams ahead. We must prepare well and win as many matches as possible, at the end we can judge, not now. The mental aspect is important in every sport. Sometimes a team dominates but goes in trouble after a lapse of concentration. The mental approach is the most difficult to train.”
Pioli then spoke on the forever present Diego Simeone-Inter rumours: “Sincerely, [It does not bother me] no. I train a big team and many people would like to be in my place, for now I’m the Inter manager, I’m serene and I try to do my best, the results will decide, I have hope for myself.”
He continued: “Suning’s money? It empowers us because we know there is an important project and helps us perform to the max. It’s normal to talk about the future but we must focus on the present. It’s a target, to have an Italian base to the squad. Gagliardini’s purchase is part of this project, he is already showing his talent. We must build a solid future. He’s growing, he comes from a different country but he can be important for the future.
