Tomorrow Inter will face Bologna in the TIM Cup and Stefano Pioli spoke with Inter Channel ahead of that match:

The last winning cycle for Inter started and ended with a Coppa Italia title…

“The way this cup is constructed we enter the competition with only four games between us and the title and it’s one of our goals to reach the final. Therefore we have to do well tomorrow. We are preparing like we always do before an important game.”

Inter comes from a victory and plays at home, how important is that?

“If we are serious and concentrated it’s very important. Playing at home could mean an advantage even if each team has 11 players on the pitch. We have to show that we are the stronger team by performing at the highest level.”

Donadoni says he will rest some players, how about you?

“I will have in mind which of the players that worked hard during Saturday’s game against Chievo Verona, but also which players that works hard during the daily sessions.  I will put a competitive team on the pitch and after the final training session I will know which players are in the best condition. Winning is good and we must continue to do that.”

How many players from your time in Bologna is still there?

“I didn’t expect that question, I think Taider is the only player but he’s out due to an injury. Marco Di Vaio is part of the technical staff. I had a good time in Bologna, but now it’s more important to keep up our momentum in which we are growing.”

In the league the others also win, does this put pressure on those ahead or does it frustrate you that they never drop points?

“I don’t think it’s a problem for us, we have the ambition to win as many games as we can. Only by performing at our highest level can we achieve that. I believed in that goal when I arrived and I still do, this team has great qualities. But our future doesn’t only depend on us, but if we keep on winning the distance between us and the top teams will shrink and this is important when we come to the decisive games.”

Tomorrow will be a cold night, why should an Inter fan go to the stadium?

“Because an Inter fan loves Inter and should know that  the team will give everything in tomorrow’s game.”
