Inter could be set to call José Mourinho over the availability of numerous Manchester Utd players ahead of the January transfer window.

The ex-Nerazzurri coach has maintained excellent relations with the likes of vice-president Javier Zanetti, sporting director Piero Ausilio as well as new team manager Walter Samuel.

Matteo Darmian is one of the players in question, as he remains on of Inter’s priority transfer targets. Ausilio will attend tomorrow night’s friendly between Italy and Germany in San Siro with a view to scouting the former Torino full back. The intention is to sign the 26-year-old on loan with an option to buy in the summer.

Meanwhile, Inter are interested in signing defensive duo Chris Smalling and Daley Blind whose futures at Old Trafford are uncertain, to say the least. Dutch winger Memphis Depay is also on the radar, though competition for his signature exists in the shape of AC Milan and Everton.
