New Inter Milan midfielder Ever Banega was called up as the only Inter player to the Argentina national football team by new head coach Edgardo Bauza. For the first time since Rodrigo Palacio in 2014 and Mauro Icardi in 2013, Banega becomes the first Nerazzurri player to play for La Albiceleste since those two aforementioned strikers in the FIFA World Cup and Qualifiers respectively.

Banega will most likely start in the two matches for qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia against Uruguay at home and away to Venezuela on September 1 and 6 respectively.
