Tonight, Gianluca Di Marzio’s site reports some calm after the storm of the past few days at Inter. An hour-long meeting took place earlier today between Roberto Mancini and Piero Ausilio during which the transfer market was discussed at length.
Sky’s Andrea Paventi believes the club gave Mancini certain guarantees such as making two marquee signings before the end of August – Candreva plus a midfielder, presumably. Also, no big players will be sacrificed this summer hence Napoli’s latest €50m offer for Icardi was swiftly rejected tonight.
The hierarchy also made it clear to Mancini that he is expected to lead the new Inter back into the Champions League places this season. For now at least, a truce has been called between coach and club.
