João Mário

Joao Mario could yet make the switch to Inter despite the Nerazzurri’s so far unsuccessful attempts to sign the Euro 2016 winner.

Inter have already had a €35million bid rejected according to reports, but another assault may yet be coming from the San Siro club.

A Bola – a Portuguese tabloid – states that Roberto Mancini is still eager to sign the player before the window shuts.

There was a real possibility of Mario joining Jiangsu Suning according to reports, who of course are now affiliated with Inter due to the new takeover.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also closely monitoring the player’s situation and are hot on the tail of the 23-year-old, with the London club believed to be in pole position.

The new figure being quoted for Joao is €45million – that is the amount Inter will have to stump up to secure the player, even though it is below the release clause set by Sporting.

Sporting’s President Bruno De Carvalho is not keen on parting with the midfielder either, meaning plenty is still to do for Inter to keep the deal alive.
