Today the Suning Group officially completed their takeover of Inter in Milan. Former Inter patron Massimo Moratti sold his remaining stakes of the club, and today he spoke to reporters about the situation:
“I think that the Chinese are great people who are very capable of doing what is needed with the right intentions. Now we need action. We need to see what the coach needs and act appropriately. I feel really good about the new investors and Thohir too. Now we need to get to work!”
“We just want our fans to be happy and enjoy something. What is my message? I will continue to love Inter and act the way I always have. We have a solid foundation, but we will sign 2-3 new players based on the coach’s requests. The goal is to get into the Champions League, then we will work from there.”
Inter’s former president was asked about a potential dream signing:
“The great champions in football are elusive, and you need to be lucky to take the right opportunities. It is important to have solid players who ensure consistency and character.”
