Having hosted the 2015/16 Champions League Final, UEFA have granted the “San Siro” elite status. The recent modernisation of the surrounding area allowed the stadium to be granted the status becoming the 27th Elite stadium and the second in Italy behind the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
