Tuttosport reports in today’s paper that Yaya Touré could sign for Inter thanks to intervention by Chinese investors Suning. “Given that he is aware of the fact that there is no unanimity regarding Touré – as opposed to last year -, Mancini has until now avoided saying too much, at least in the media, regarding the issue. He has however spoken with Thohir, explaining all the motives why a 33-year old could be the focal point of Inter, who in these past few years has drastically reduced the average age of the squad and brought the level of wages paid to a more sensible level. The negotiations with Manchester City (with whom Inter first have to resolve the Jovetic situation) whould not be difficult also due to Guardiola’s arrival – who dismissed Touré already at Barcelona – which is a further guarantee that the club despite his contract expiring in June 2017, could allow the player to leave or to agree on a termination of his contract for a compensatory payment.” Thanks to Suning, then, Touré could play at top level football for another 2-3 seasons with Inter before moving to the Chinese Super League and Jiangsu before retiring.
