So, it is finally time for the rematch between Inter and Roma. Inter beat Roma 1-0 at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza last year. A goal from Gary Medel from outside the box was the decider. Since then Roma have(like Inter) had sort of a rollercoaster of a season. Now Roma are playing very well, they have won their last 8 league games. Will Inter be able to win the returning leg? On Saturday we will find out! Here are some interesting numbers from Whoscored presented to you via the Twitter account InterStats

Goal-Scoring

Inter won their last game against a on-form Bologna with 2-1. It has been a while since we last won a game with 1-0. Roma are a whole lot better  than Inter when it comes to goal-scoring. Roma have scored 61 goals this season and Inter have scored 39 this season. Roma’s Top Goalscorer in the club is Mohamed Salah, he has scored 11 times this season. Inter have a striker as Top Goalscorer in the club, Mauro Icardi, he has scored 12 times this season.

Goal-Stopping

Inter have a better defense statistically than Roma. We have conceded 27 goals so far. Roma have conceded 30 goals this season, Roma have only conceded 3 goals more than Inter which doesn’t mean that they are any worse than Inter (other than statistically). Roma have conceded 5 goals from Set Pieces, Inter have conceded 8 goals from Set Pieces. Inter have conceded 16 goals away while Roma have conceded 13 goals in home games.

Passing the ball

Inter average 520 passes per game with each passing streak lasting about 4.8. Roma’s passing-stats are a bit better than Inter’s. Roma average 536 passes per game with each passing streak lasting about 4.9. These stats show that Roma are better at passing the ball than Inter. Roma average are more passes per game and they miss less passes than Inter do as well. This can also be seen in the average possession stats where Roma average 55% possession and Inter average 53%.
