Inter has made it official on Inter.it that Giovanni Gardini is the new Chief Football Adminstrator of the club. Gardini comes from Hellas and will start working for Inter on the 1st of March. Here’s what Inter communicates on their website:

Gardini’s main responsibilities:

“Gardini’s main responsibilities in this new role will cover sport institutional relations, player transfer administration and oversight of the sport secretariat. He will start in his new position at the Club on 1 March 2016 working alongside the technical side led by Piero Ausilio in his role as Chief Sports Oficer. Both will report directly to Inter Chief Executive Oficer, Michael Bolingbroke.”

Bolingbrokes comments:

“Commenting on the announcement Inter CEO, Michael Bolingbroke, said: “I am pleased to welcome Giovanni to Inter as our new Chief Football Administrator. He brings with him a great deal of experience on the sports administration side, together with a deep understanding of Serie A having previously worked at a number of Italian clubs. I am looking forward to working closely with Giovanni as we continue strengthening the sports administration of Inter, a key part of our overall plan for the Club as we move forward.”

Gardini’s words:

Speaking of his appointment, Giovanni Gardini, said: “I would like to thank President Erick Thohir for the opportunity he has ofered me. I am honoured to be joining a great club like Inter and I look forward to working alongside CEO Michael Bolingbroke and the management team. I am ready to put my experience and contacts in the world of football to good use, both in Italy and beyond. All my eforts will be dedicated to the benefit of the Club and to achieving the objectives the organisation has set itself in the coming years.”

Gardini’s history:

Prior to joining Inter, Gardini was Managing Director at Hellas Verona from 2012 until present and has worked at a number of Italian clubs as Managing Director including Livorno Calcio, Treviso, S.S. Lazio as Director of Operations, and Calcio Padova, first as General Secretary then as Managing Director.
