Inter’s Brazilian full back Dodo has been speaking to the media during a press conference this afternoon at the Centro Sportivo Angelo Moratti.

“I want to be available for selection again, let’s see where I should play and how I can be useful for the team. There have been some tough moments. The first month after the injury is the hardest: you can’t run and you can’t work out in the gym. You have to stay strong mentally.”

Close to a return Dodo’s aim is to force his way back into the Inter and Brazil starting elevens:

“I heard that there were transfer rumours, but honestly nothing came through and we were only focusing on my recovery. I didn’t take any holidays so I could continue my return to fitness. It went really well and my only thought was to return to helping out the team. I’m feeling good at the moment, perhaps even better than when I first came to Inter.”

“I’m really motivated and I want to play, my main objective is get back into the team. I hope to earn my spot in the starting XIs for Inter and Brazil. A big squad is definitely a good thing, at some point last year we had so many injuries that I was the only full back available. If a team wants to win, it needs to have different options.”

How the season is going and the atmosphere in the dressing room:

“Serie A is different this year, we can compete with the top teams and take it right to the end. The coach is a direct and honest man. It’s really important throughout the whole season that even those who aren’t playing regularly are always prepared to step up to the plate and go out and win games.”
