After Inter’s narrow 2-1 victory against Carpi, Roberto Mancini spoke to the press about the match:

“If the season would just end now it would be great, but there are 36 games left.  Jovetic? We brought him in to get goals and assists. I think that we can still improve a lot, because we are a top team.  The team can also give more. Carpi struggled, but they dug deep and played a great game. Their goal came from a shot that ended up in the middle of the area. We should have reacted to it better, but overall, the defense did well today.  They [Carpi] have some fast players, and Murillo and Miranda did very well against them. Next time around we will have to kill off the game.”

Mancini was then asked about Inter’s activity on the transfer market:

“Eder is currently a Sampdoria player. I am happy for Zegna’s team’s results. Hernanes to Juve? This just came up. He is an important player for us. He was not playing often because he was having some problems. He makes a difference on the pitch.  I am happy when we buy players. It is a dream come true. As a player, I love Medel because he puts in a lot of work. If our team was made up of 11 Medels, we would win matches out of desire and determination.”

The coach then went on to talk about Geoffrey Kondogbia and Mauro Icardi:

“Kondogbia can play in front of the defense. He can still improve, and he is very useful in matches. Will Mauro play in the Derby? Yes, absolutely.”
