Podolski was joined by Fredy Guarin at the exhibition centre in Milan: “It was really important to us but we weren’t able to achieve the target we set ourselves. We had chances but didn’t have much luck in the first period and unfortunately they scored. Once it went to 1-1 that was the time when we ran out of steam and yet that’s when we needed to step up a gear.
“It’s better that no one believes we can win the Scudetto next season apart from us. We have to believe we can always improve. To do so however, we need to give a better account of ourselves and we have two months and 11 matches to do so.”
