Earlier today Marcelo Brozovic was presented officially as an Inter player. The 23-year old Croatian midfielder has chosen to wear the number 77 at Inter. He was introduced to the press by coach Roberto Mancini who said;
“We present to you Marcelo Brozovic, who we hope will do great things at Inter.”
Then the questions from the journalists began.
What does it mean for you to wear this shirt?
“To be hear is a dream, I have always wanted to play here. It is a great team with a great history. I have never met fans this passionate before. It is something really special, I am happy to be here and I hope I can prove that the investment the club has done was the right thing to do.”
Do you feel the pressure?
“No I don’t feel pressured. I will follow the coach.”
What has Kovacic told you?
“He says he will always stay close to me and help me whenever I need it.”
Can you describe yourself as a player?
“I am a midfielder. I prefer playing centrally or as a defensive midfielder, it depends on the formation.”
Why did you choose the no. 77 and how are you?
“I would have preferred the 11; I took 77 because it was not available. It was the same at Dinamo. How I am? I’ve been practising the last 20 days, I am ready.”
Milan were also interested, why did you chose Inter?
“There was some interest but I didn’t really know much about it. I chose Inter because the conditions were good and they had a lot of players that I knew.”
Who did you use to look up to, and who would you like to emulate?
“I like Frank Lampard a lot, I hope to become like him.”
FcIN: You had offers from the UK, how do you see the serie A and why did you choose it?
“I like the Premier League, but Italian football is fast and tactical. I prefer that.”
FcIN: You will only be able to play in the league; will it be hard not to play in Europe?
“There is now problem.”
What are your goals at Inter?
“I am very young, I hope to develop and be a complete player in a year.”
