The news of Cerci’s decision has not yet settled and Inter are already pushing for other objectives.

According to Sport Mediaset and Sky, Piero Ausilio will meet with Arsene Wenger this afternoon to discuss Lukas Podolski’s situation. He wants to join Inter as soon as possible. The details of the loan look to be a free loan right now, with the option for full rights set at €6 million come this summer. The only difficulty left deals with Giroud’s expulsion yesterday that leaves Arsenal shorthanded in the attacking department.

The Frenchman is banned for tomorrow’s West Ham game, the Sunderland game on New Year’s Day, and the FA Cup Third Round match versus next Sunday. That means if Wenger wishes to hold onto the German until then, Inter would have Poldi on Monday the 5th, one day before the Derby D’Italia at Juventus.

Should the Inter sporting director reach an agreement over pricing and loan details, then the only issue remaining will be the timeline. Ausilio will be pushing to take the 29 year-old German back with him sooner, perhaps after Sunderland. It all depends on Wenger.

Author’s note: Freakin’ Giroud had to screw everything up… I really wanted/we really needed Poldi for Juve. Maybe Mancini will pull a Mourinho/Sneijder and throw him on regardless of when he comes, as long as he comes before kickoff Tuesday the 6th.
