In the first half, Inter completed only one of 20 crosses, even while playing in a formation stressing the wings. In the second half with Kovacic as playmaker and thus more space on the wings for Nagatomo and D’Ambrosio, crossing accuracy improved. Five out of 19 crosses found Inter players, and shooting accuracy improved as well.
Author’s note: Raining crosses with minimal results. I really am done watching the crossing display from our wings… Everything from Nagatomo was too short and headed out, and everything from Guarin and D’Ambrosio seemed either sent for goal-kick or unlikely to be even at head-height for a garden gnome. I cannot wait to see what this mercato brings about.
