Today Diego Milito spoke to Goal Argentina about Inter’s chances this season:

“Obviously  I am still very connected with the club and I always will be.  Inter has given a lot to me.  I love the fans, the city, and I had some incredible moments there.  For being a spectator, it is a bit special because I will always follow Inter.  I watch all of the games I can.  Right now Inter is under construction.  Now they have a new coach and it will take some time for things to get going.  Inter need balance now.  My farewell? It ended because my contract expired.  I felt that it was time to leave and make room for other players.  Of course, I was sad because I left a club that I love a lot.  The departure of all the Argentines? Sometimes things go well, and sometimes they don’t.  I had some great moments, I enjoyed them and I will carry them with me.  The love from the fans was also very great.  I think that the respect from the whole club made me very happy. Is Icardi my heir? Perhaps with some Champions league final goals?  I hope he is.  He is a great striker.  He is young and still has plenty of room for improvement.  He can become great at Inter.  The team is good and they could have a good season.  Moratti and Thohir? Moratti and I have a father-son type of relation ship.  He brought me to Inter, and always gave me confidence and I will always thank him for giving me such a great opportunity. I am very fond of him. I do not know Thohir as much because he recently joined the club.  Inter will need to have patience because it will take time to create fireworks. Many things have changed.  I trust Mancini.  I hope that he is the right man for Inter.  It is easy to talk about Mancini because everyone knows who he is.  He has a lot of coaching experience.  I have no doubt he can take Inter back to the top.  He knows that he is loved by the fans.  Is third place possible? I hope so.  Inter is a great team, and a great team must always fight for the top.”
