Andrea Ranocchia spoke to “Inter Channel” today in the United States. The captain gave his opinion on the topic of racism. Here are his words:

“It is unthinkable that 2014 there are still incidents of racism and discrimination. We are under the magnifying glass and we have to set a good example, otherwise it is unlikely that this will change in the world in general. We have to take this route in order to make changes. It is important to make a statement here, in Washington, where they elected the first black president. An example has been set and we must continue on this path.

The insults on the field? I hope something changes at the FIGC level as well as FIFA because a lot depends on them. We can take inspiration from them, but we have to do something because it is absolutely absurd to even talk about these situations. Say no to discrimination, together!”
