A noticeably low Walter Mazzarri eventually arrived to speak with Sky after havign watched his team get steamrolled by Juventus after losing 3-1 at Juventus Stadium.

I’m disappointed over how we conceded the secodn and third goals. Juventus have scored 3-4 goals on everyone but I knew that their pressing would diminish in the second half. When you try to come back into a game anythign can happen: you could see their ferocity today…the first goal is something that hapens but we have to be able to stay in the match and then try to get back into the match towaards the end.”

Then Mazzarri was asked what Inter have to do to turn things around: “You have to be attentive in a mean way to all the details just like Juve are. We were far to coy, and today we retained ball-possession and at 3-1 Palacio missed two chances that woudl have re-opened the match. I feel confident: I don’t see all these problems, Iäm sorry we weren’t able to get the result with us. During the match I spoke to Frustalupi in order to talk to the lads, who are giving me ideas on how to get them to grow. We need a win to turn this around.”

Still the difference seemed clear. And the two wingers, just like Palacio seem in a physical downfall. “Today it was an easy game tactically because they were all duels and then the depth of the one who is used to winning comes out. We also created chances to score, but they went in physically and then they punished us. I thought that Kovacic would be in the ideal position to create the play, considering the freedom to play the ball without pressure. He could be the one to make the difference, for the rest it was all about contrasts. And in these cases, who wins the most (contrasts) goes on to win the game.”

Mazzarri was also asked questions about the absence of Samuel, Zanetti and Ranocchia on the pitch: “They are feeling well right now and Ranocchia’s last match was against Lazio. Rolando is quite often the best player on the pitch, Campagnaro is important and we’re putting our faith in Juan jesus because we need to give raise his self-confidence. He could be one of the best in Europe. Without forgetting the transfermarket.”

“Wasn’t Pirlo given too much space? We had to have someone there but we didn’t do it enough, we found it hard. Kovacic was supposed to have covered Pirlo but we were weaker in midfield because he wasn’t able to cover him” Mazzarri concludes.
