Speaking to Andrea Paventi and Massimiliano Nebuloni, the Nerazzurri coach Walter Mazzarri took stock of his first few months with Inter, analysing the progress and projects of his team and the new president, Erick Thohir.

“The summary is excellent,” he explained at one point in the interview. “Unfortunately in Italy things are often assessed only at the end by the results. When looking at it that way I can say that we could have four or five more points, and I’m not referring to the home games against Parma and Sampdoria, since we didn’t see the best Inter performances there.”

“What do I expect from the new year? I never see a smooth road when it comes to these things. I’d like 2014 to follow the same path that other good years did. I hope the year will be a good one for Inter fans. I don’t like to make predictions, but I can say we’ll give our all so Inter fans feel can feel competitive as they did in the old days.”
