The former Inter-striker Hernan Crespo spoke in interview today with Calciomercato.it about Inter and the new generation of Argentinians wearing the black and blue jersey. Crespo expresses many positive feelings.

“Inter are doing much better than last season, even though they only play once a week. Mazzarri is a very capable coach and the results speaks for themselves. I like his way of playing football, it’s simple and compact and with deadly counterattacks. The Scudetto? It’s too early to talk about. Of course, Juventus are favorites but they’ll be challenged by many teams, but for now, I see Juventus as the favorites.”

What Inter-players have impressed you the most this season?

“Ricky Alvarez have been a pleasant suprise who’ve totally exploded this season. Then, there are many talanted players like Fredy Guarin, Maur Icardi, Ishak Belfodil and Diego Milito, of course and Rodrigo Palacio.”

Do you see resemblance in Icardi with attributes of your own?

“Please, let’s not compare players. I’m Crespo and He’s Icardi. Everybody’s got their own charactaristics. If you compare too much you lose the real value of a player and puts a lot of pressure of a young man. Concerning Icardi I can only say that he is a good player with a lot of room to improve. Maybe he should have stayed at Sampdoria for Another year, playing more regularly and scoring more than ten goals for a season.”

How do you feel about the switch between Moratti and Erick Thohir?

“Inter with Moratti have been a romantic story and leaves a lot of nostalgia. On the other hand, we must trust Moratti’s instincts for the best for Inter in the future. If he trusts Thohir, then so should we.

Thoughts on the game against Roma?

“The Roma-games have given me a lot of good memories as a player, mainly because we always won. Let’s hope for that.”
