Javier Zanetti was present at the meeting arranged by the Italian football federation for coaches, and captains. The Inter captain was present together with Cordoba and Mazzarri’s assistant Frustalupi. Zanetti was interviewed at the meeting about the game against Juventus:

“I would give everything to play against Juventus, but my teammates will be the ones thinking about giving their all. It will be a great game and there is no need for me to contribute with hints on how to play it. Everyone knows what they have to give. I don’t know if Juventus are the favorites for the scudetto, but it is one of the best team. Our ambition is to play on the same level as the teams that are aiming for the top positions. The tension from this game is felt, but I hope the referee can be calm and officiate it like any other game. It is a pity that many national team players are missing in the preparations for the game, but this goes for Juve as well. The best memory from the games against Juventus? The game we won during the treble season with Maicon’s great goal.”

The captain also answered questions about his health, his future and Diego Milito:

“I’m feeling better and I’m hoping to be able to continue my rehabilitation period just as I’ve done the latest months. I prefer not to talk about when I could come back. My future? First of all I’ll think about coming back from the injury in the best of ways, if I still feel important we’ll think about what to do. Milito? He looked good with the primavera and against Lugano. He scored and that will be great for his morale. I’m hoping he can be on the bench against Juventus.”

To conclude Zanetti talked about Mazzarri, the youngsters and Moratti:

“We are trying to take Mazzarri’s will to the field. The feeling is that Inter is a compact team that knows what to do. Mazzarri always makes his voice heard, both on practice sessions and in games. He likes to prepare every detail and we needed someone like him. The youngsters? They are adapting well and are understanding what it means to play for Inter. Some have already shown what they can and some will do it soon. Moratti? Everytime we talk he seems to be very calm. He wants the best for Inter just as always. He really has strong feelings for this team.”
