In an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Parma sporting director Antonello Preiti talked about Walter Gargano and the club’s reported interest in the midfielder: “I read about the interest in the newspapers. Walter is a great player, but we have a good player at that position in Jaime Valdes. If Silvestre won’t come there’s been talk of Gargano, still one of the best central midfielders in Italy, but the goal for Parma is a defender.”

On when the acquisition of Cassano could be made official: “I don’t think there’s an exact date of the announcement of Cassano, we’re working in the right direction. Anytime is right when all things have come into place.”
