All the steps that led to the dismissal of Stramaccioni were reported in an article by Luigi Garlando, in Gazzetta dello Sport, that is literally explosive. Obviously, these truths need confirmation and requires a response directly from the parties involved.

1) Cambiasso

The Argentine was left out of the team in the second round of the league and took this badly. For Stramaccioni, Cambiasso could be used in some cases, nothing more. In a subsequent clash at Pinetina Zanetti stood against Cambiasso: it resembled a revolution. During the days of the dismissal, the two Argentines were talking, they’re friends more than before. Cassano has just done it. From these three, there is no gesture of solidarity with the sacked coach.

2) Sneijder

Branca did not speak in public: as he explained the Sneijder case he became entangled and exposed himself to accusations of bullying. The dutchman left because he earned too much (Cambiasso earns 4.8, but stayed without any problems). For the coach, it was a big blow. He had no attacking winger, he now lost the offensive player with the best quality.

3) Milito

When Moratti asked about the central striker, Stramaccioni clarified that he focused everything on him. With the Argentine he conquered Juventus Stadium and defeated Mazzarri. He received only one good gift on the transfer market: Kovacic. He was discovered by Strama when he studied videos of Dinamo Zagreb’s leftback Vrsaljko.

4) The injuries

Second-degree sprains are like cherries, one leads to another. Trivia: Alvarez finished training without problems, but didnot get on the bus to Genoa, he had to stay for a sudden x-ray. Palacio felt no pain and was asking to try and run, but was released only for the final game. At a certain point, even Moratti noticed these abnormalities and made sure that they were corrected. Doctor Combi has a good relationship with the veterans and Zanetti’s decision to undergo surgery in Pavia instead of Finland gave him a lot of political support. A frequent pressure to reduce the loads and protect the senators, while players like Guarin and Pereira needed to regain power. It’s hard not to fail with 16 players out.

5) Cassano

The romance between Fantantonio and the coach was soon falling apart. Cassano realized that the customary extension became complicated, Stramaccioni wanted a team with no sporting problems (Cambiasso and Cassano) and wanted Zanetti as a luxury reserve, or preferably as a director. In the dressing room there were more and more talk about Mazzarri: Mazzarri and Cassano have Bozzo as joint agent. Bozzo had offered to help Stramaccioni. At Inter works, since last summer, Fassone, who seems to have been lobbying for Mazzarri. Strama squared with Cassano’s provocations and behavior, and in March the violent scuffle occured.

6) The referees

If you think about Juve and Milan’s polemic, you will think of Marotta and Galliani, at Inter will you think of Bonolis. “Strama has always been held to account,” explains Garlando. After the loss against Siena one of the Tuscan club’s directors said in confidence: “I have never seen a coach so alone before and after a match.”

After all this Stramaccioni presented himself to Moratti and called for a revolution. Something like: “President, change everything around me. The rest I will think of.” But Moratti replaced him. Stramaccioni has not suffered from the dismissal itself but the manner and the long wave built up over months. Now he feels as if he were 15 years old, a torn ligament and a dream in tatters. Two summers ago, he was followed by Inter, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina and Sacchi (u-17). But now it’s hard to think of Genoa and Parma. It was Inter he wanted to make happy.
