Our partners at FcInterNews.it spoke exclusively with Velez Sarsfield Sporting Director, Christian Bassedas, to enquire about Inter’s interest in Gino Peruzzi:

Bassedas, Inter are chasing Peruzzi…

“I don’t know, you will have to ask Inter…”

Can we say that there have been any contacts betweem you and Inter?

“Officially no contacts have been taken but I’m sure that there is interest.”

How does it look like with regards to Inter’s interest and the interest of otehr clubs such as Manchester City?

“There are currently no official negotiations taking place. We can say that there are rumours and interest in Gino Peruzzi.”

You have made deals before with Inter when it came to Alvarez. How is the relationship between the two clubs?

“The relationship is really very good. We have a great relationship with Inter, no doubt.”

What do you think about Peruzzi’s development? Are you surprised about the interest that he has attracted on the transfer market?

“Gino is a young lad who continues to develop greatly. The rumours surrounding him aside we haven’t started negotiating officially yet.”

If an offer was to arrive, how much will you ask?

“The issue of the price isn’t something that will be asked of me, we will see how things develop.”

But can Gino Peruzzi really be considered to be Javier Zanetti’s heir?

“Who knows. It’s difficult to replicate a career like Zanetti’s who is really fantastic. Gino is  a very good full-back, he has exploded this season and is already being mentioned to be a part of the national team.”

Let’s conclude with another Argentinian, Ricardo Alvarez. At Velez he grew enormously and then you sold him: would you like to have him back?

“Of course we would like to have him back. Ricardo has enormous quality, unfortunately he didn’t get to play that much here in Velez so I’d very much like to have him back.”
