Sampdoria boss Ciro Ferrara has ‘maximum respect’ for Inter ahead of his side’s trip to San Siro on Wednesday.

The Bluerchiati face Andrea Stramaccioni’s team tomorrow, and the 45-year-old Coach has admitted he has a huge amount of admiration for the Milanese giants.

“We will go there to try and pose a problem for Inter,” he told a Press conference. “But we know that they are a good side.

“I have maximum respect for Inter. They have a great squad, and it will be a pleasure to go there and play them.

“My team is a very young one and I can see that they are giving their all in every game. We shouldn’t forget that the difficult period we are going through [no wins in six matches] has coincided with several suspensions and mistakes which are avoidable.

He also commented on the fitness of a number of first-team players ahead of the game.

“Enzo Maresca and Pedro Obiang are not available, and neither are Nenad Krsticic and Nicola Pozzi through injury.

“Maxi Lopez has been training regularly and will be fit for the game.”
