Samir Handanovic made decisive save when he parried Markovic’s pass which led to Inter scoring the only goal of the game in the following counter-attack. But the Inter number 1 refused to acknowledge any thoughts that his contribution was any more important than any of his team-mates when interviewed after the match by Inter Channel: “This is football. We created a lot of scoring opportunities but me managed to squander them all. To win is the most important thing, it’s winning that counts. In the second half our opponents suffered physically and we were really in the game whilst during the first half we didn’t press them high up as we should have done. A goalkeepers task is to not concede any goals, this is my job, there are no matches that are more or less important than other matches, all matches are important” Handanovic concludes.
